This is especially so at Caernarfon, Beddgelert and Porthmadog The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the Arriva "5-5C" and "X5-5C" through buses which connect from Llandudno (via the North Wales Coast road) with the Welsh Highland Railway at Caernarfon At the other end of the line the Ffestiniog Railway and Arriva "3B" weekday buses and the Llew Jones "1S" Sunday buses link for Blaenau Ffestiniog where Conwy Valley trains and Llew Jones "X19" buses connect back to Llandudno on both weekdays and Sundays Alternatively use the Snowdon Sherpa Bus network which connects with the Welsh Highland Railway at Beddgelert from the North Wales Coast via Betws-y-Coed, Pen-y-Pass and the scenic Nant Gwynant pass Please note the Welsh Highland Railway does not run every day outside the main Summer period nor does every train run on the dates the railway is open You are strongly advised to first consult the official WHRly website to confirm the train(s) you want are actually scheduled to run on the date of your proposed visit then use the timetable below to find the times of the connecting Snowdon Sherpa or other bus(es) Connections from Llandudno via the Ffestiniog Railway from Blaenau Ffestiniog are also shown - but please note some of these do not run every day outside the main Summer period You are strongly advised to first consult the official FRly website to confirm the train(s) you want are actually scheduled to run on the date of your proposed visit then use the timetable below to find the times of the connecting Snowdon Sherpa bus(es)/trains This website also contains composite timetables of connecting Snowdon Sherpa services on a where a change of bus is usually necessary --- hopefully it will help you plan your days out It also includes some suggested "trips round Snowdonia - without your car" |
