B E W A R E ....................... !!! Car Parking near Snowdon is very limited and can be expensive if a space can be found The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the Snowdon Sherpa Bus network  It is   used to be   possible to climb Snowdon from Morfa Bychan every Sunday and Public Holiday throughout the year by Sherpa to the start of most of the tracks (except when it falls on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day) If you plan to go up and down the Miners path, the PYG track, the Watkin path, Rhyd Ddu path or the Snowdon Ranger path ask the driver of your first bus for a £6.80 Red Rover ticket Why not go up one track and return down another ?  Remember - if the weather is bad or you find the going is too hard - turn back

"Trips to climb Snowdon  or Tryfan without your car" (or go for a walk along the foothills) from Morfa Bychan

Until March 2013, it WAS possible on Sundays and Public Holidays to travel from Morfa Bychan on a through "99-S97" working via Porthmadog to Pen-y-Pass However Gwynedd CC split the contract for Sundays/Public Holidays and awarded the "S97" journeys between Porthmadog and Beddgelert/Pen-y-Pass to Arriva resulting in the number of 'stand alone' "99" passengers rapidly declining especially as the services no longer reliably connected In consequence the 'stand alone' "99" service is now longer viable and has been withdrawn leaving Morfa Bychan and Borth-y-Gest isolated on Sundays and Public Holidays ! Sunday services to Snowdonia are still available from nearby Porthmadog

latest times should always be confirmed from the individual timetables on the official Gwynedd CC or Conwy CC websites  and any subsequent amendments thereto
