Llandudno-Snowdonia - Connecting bus/train services for day trips from Llandudno to Snowdonia (via BetwsyCoed) - 19/84/X1/X6 - S2-S3-S4-S6-S97

IMPORTANT
For the first time in two decades, there is a major change to the 'structure' of the Sherpa network which is also expanded to incorporate some local services - thus providing better "cross-Snowdonia"journeys - meaning there is less now less need than ever to take cars into the National Park
The most significant changes are routes......
"S1" - Betws-y-Coed - Pen-y-Pass - Llanberis - Caernarfon (in lieu of the local "88")
"S2" - Bangor - Llanberis - Pen-y-Pass (in lieu of the local "85" also 'Park and Ride')
"S3" - Beddgelert - Caernarfon - Deiniolen (in lieu of the local "85")
"S4" - Porthmadog - Beddgelert - Pen-y-Pass (in lieu of the former local "S97")
Note specially the 'daily' two-hourly
"T10" TrawsCymru - Bangor - Llyn Ogwen (Tryfan) - Betws-y-Coed - Corwen - service (which started mid-2021 on an experimental basis) now replaces the former weekend only "S6" Sherpa by providing connections into/out of the revised "S2" Sherpa at Capel Curig

Despite operators normally being required to give 56 days notice of any change, the "local Councils" along with "Transport for Wales" have specified the new services and as such there was "LESS THAN THREE WEEKS NOTICE" given to the General Public making planning ahead extremely difficult for potential visitors to the area
Following on from the ever-changing situation as a result of Covid, this is no surprise as neither Gwynfor CC nor Conwy CC (or indeed any of the bus operators) have recently given early notice of changes to the Sherpas OR other local connections - in fact in Snowdonia these have usually been literally just a few days before the alterations came into effect

In view of the late public advice of the detailed changes to all of the services, ANY PAGE on THIS website dated before "THURSDAY 24th MARCH" should be regarded as "STILL TO BE FULLY UPDATED"

%% - operates direct to Llandrillo College on Mondays to Thursdays during College Term (arrive 1640), returning via Llandudno arrive 1715
--- on other dates operates direct to Llandudno arrive 1640

* - whilst in theory it is just possible to catch the earlier 1715 "T19" journey from Betws-y-Coed
- as it is less than 5 minutes, it is NOT recognised as a connection by the TravelineCymru "Journey Planner"..........but if everything is spot on time and you are quick, it will get you to Llanrwst or Llandudno VERY much earlier
All it needs is the 1650 ex-Blaenau Ffestiniog to depart Betws-y-Coed slightly later (as it did until Saturday 29th August 2020)
..........unfortunately as this IS NOW THE LAST JOURNEY OF THE DAY - it is PROBABLY THE WORST EXAMPLE
of 'FAILED' INTEGRATED TIMETABLE PLANNING IN SNOWDONIA
(if you miss it, your ONLY OPTION NOW IS TO CATCH THE 1802 TRAIN at Betws-y-Coed (SOME TICKETS MAY NOT BE VALID) AS THE ARE NO LONGER ANY LATER CONWY VALLEY BUSES !!!!!

- if this causes you inconvenience or additional costs, write/phone/email the operator (Llew Jones - 01492 640 320),
Conwy CC and/or TrawsCymru and ask them to retime the 1715 "T19" journey slightly later to RELIABLY connect
