LAKE GENEVA

C G N Spring, Summer and Autumn Timetables

14th April to 29th October 2006

"Grand Races"
Unfortunately the full-length "Grand Races" were withdrawn at the end of the 2005 season

From the Upper Lake piers it is now only possible
to sail as far as Morges (on the Swiss coast)
or Yvoire (on the French coast) and back in a day
(unfortunately with no time ashore at destination
- although by alighting short it is still possible to make
a quick visit to a French resort such as Evian-les-Bains
during the Summer Timetable period only)

This will involve several changes of ships en-route
and on most dates will involve a motor vessel(s)
for at least part (occasionally all) of the journey

It is still be possible to sail the full length of the lake
and back in a day, but only by starting from Geneva
restricted to the Summer Timetable period

The following suggested itineries are shown merely to give prospective travellers an idea of the limited options available for a longer sail A CGN "Day ticket" for the lake may be the most economical fare unless you already have some form of Swiss reduced travel ticket/holiday runabout (depending on just how far you plan to sail) You are strongly advised to confirm the best option to suit your requirements locally with the CGN before travelling Beware - just because a motor paddle vessel is provided on the day for the first leg of the journey does not guarentee which vessels will operate the other legs Timings information is extracted from the advertised printed timetable issued by the CGN
