LAKE GENEVA

C G N Summer Timetable
Advance Information - Summer 2009

The large PS La Suisse is planned to return to service in Spring 2009
following a major re-build
and spend the summer on the anti-clockwise sailings
to the Upper Lake from Lausanne

The peak-Summer service will again revert to five paddle steamers
along with the one motor paddle vessel

In consequence the other large steamer - PS Simplon - moves
to Geneva all Summer for a slightly amended sailing daily to Lausanne
releasing PS Rhône to operate the peak-Summer
Lausanne to Geneva and return sailing
(which the previous year was a motor vessel)

Further details to follow when available
but the timetables below shows the anticipted
revised peak-summer paddle steamer timetable
(late-June to early-September)

Late Economies
As a result of (a) the world-wide economic situation
and (b) withdrawal of subsidies from certain bodies
it is understood that at this moment in time the following reductions in paddle steamer sailings are planned to apply throughout the summer of 2009.....###
1) PS Montreux will only operate the evening sailings out of Lausanne restricted to Sunday 28th June to Sunday 6th September
(the lunchtime sailing to Cully is to be withdrawn and the afternoon cruise from Lausanne Round the Upper Lake is to be covered by the much smaller mv Chablais
2) The Upper Lake Eveving Cruises originally planned for MPV Vevey are to be suspended throughtout the whole of the summer 2009 period except for Thursdays and Fridays - note only special tickets will be valid in 2009
3) All calls at most of the small piers in the Geneva Basin (Petit Lac) are to be suspended throughtout the whole of the mid-December 2008 to mid-December 2009 period

### - this is supported by the timetables shown on the official CGN website at the start of January 2009 although it is possible there will be further changes before the start of the summer timetable - please check nearer the time
