in the SBB consultation documents aimed to make it possible to operate with one less paddle steamer roster compared with 2024 However news of a severe lack of availability of several paddle steamers due to on-going delayed maintenance resulted in a much reduced timetable sing just the two motor paddle vessels augmented by PS La Suisse being substituted for the whole of the Spring period The serious breakdown of PS La Suisse resulted in no steam powered ships in operation during the tourist season for the first time in the history of the CGN Witn no sign of any paddle steamer being available for the start of the Summer, expect a further drastically reduced timetable - with less than two weeks to go, no announcement has been made.......... watch this space? for further details when available !!!! |
