The usual general "after-season" refit will this winter include a major re-build, including
complete replacement of the rear saloon structure on the upper deck of
PS Concordia
The revised target is for the paddle steamer to be back
in service by Easter
In these circumstances, it is expected the
paddle steamer
will again operate similar sailings to 2003
most of which were on a non-advertised basis except
for sailings 20-45 on Thursdays
in July and August 2003
Sadly, no work is scheduled to take place to
PS Patria
which now remains laid-up for over a decade
Tenders have also been invited for the construction of
a new 700 passenger motor vessel
to enter service in 2005
This may well take over the heavily loaded
'full-length' sailings 10-47 most days
(in particular
Sundays)
rather than using the paddle
steamer
which could well return to the 'traditional' 1990s situation
when she was used primarily for Private Charter Sailings
and the occasional Special Public Sailing
In these circumstances, you are strongly advised
to make the most of those sailings on offer during 2004
whilst you can ! |
