Z S G    Summer Timetable Advance Information - Summer 2004

Work has now started on the major re-build of PS Stadt Zürich which is required back in service by the beginning of June 2004 to meet the advertised timetabled services Despite earlier indications to the contrary, the paddle steamer timetabled sailings for 2004 are identical to 2003 with one operating the regular two round trips from Zurich to Rapperswil at 0930 and 1430 on all operational dates The second paddle stemer is shown to work the 1230 sailing from Zurich to Schmerikon and return on Sundays between June and September also the 1030 sailing from Zurich to Rapperswil and the shorter 1440 sailing from Zurich to Männedorf on weekdays between 12th July and 14th August Once again, ALL paddle steamer sailings are shown as weather permitting only, despite the internal improvements to PS Stadt Zürich which was supposed to have elimianted this restriction ! PS Stadt Rapperswil is also expected to re-enter service some time during April (either at Easter or the Swiss Navigation Day Sunday) and operate some sailings vice a motor vessel on a non-advertised basis similar to 2003 With only one paddle steamer available, it is expected to operate just short "one hour" non-landing cruises on Sunday 25th April (similar to 2003) If YOU have any further information, please e-mail me and I will post it for the benefit of other visitors to this site
