Just after 1350 on
Thursday 20th July
PS Schiller (which had been
rostered to operate sailing
18 instead of
PS Uri) was between Vitznau and Weggis when the
paddle steamer suffered damage to the 94 year old clevis
mounting for the valve gear and was temporarily withdrawn from service - the SGV stated that
this did not have anything to do with the recent two year overhaul
The 400 passengers on board were taken forward by a motor vessel
The paddle steamer subsequently returned to service at 1315 on
Friday 28th July
after the original faulty 250 kg iron componant was replace with a new steel one

morning sailings at 0916 and 1020 to Stansstad and Küssnacht am Rigi respectively |
Lake Thun |
PS Blümlisalp commenced operation on
Sunday 30th April (Swiss Navigation Day) with the usual
sailings 15-16 - this was the first time a
paddle steamer had sailed on Lake Thun during April on timetabled service for many years

Both paddle
steamers were in public service on Lake Zurich for
Swiss Navigation Day operating special sailings -
PS Stadt Zürich
operated special "one hour trips" at 1030, 1200, 1330, 1500 and 1630
PS Stadt Rapperswil
operated a "four hour trip" at 1330
This was the first time a paddle steamer had sailed in public service on Lake Zurich
during April for many years |

Saturday 15th April to mark
her re-entry into service after a major two-year rebuild |
This paddle
steamer commenced normal timetabled sailings the
following day |

MPV Italie was the first paddle vessel to enter service and operated the
Geneva based sailings
80-71-118-83-166-99 to Yvoire (France) on
Saturday 1st April
this continued to apply on Saturdays and Sundays until the end of the month |
