  B E W A R E ....................... !!!
Car Parking in Snowdonia is very limited and can be expensive if a space can be found

The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the
Snowdon Sherpa Bus network

It is still possible to make a day or afternoon trip from
Porthmadog to Betws-y-Coed
 (change Sherpas at Pen-y-Pass)
(Alternatively use the Sherpa buses to reach and climb up or ride round Snowdon in either direction)

Suggested timings are shown below and all the trips featured can all be done for just 6.80 using a "Red Rover"
(Purchase from the driver of your first bus)

LATEST..........
There are changes to the times of some "S97" afternoon journeys to/from Porthmadog as well as onward "S4" connections at Beddgelert to Caernarfon also onward connections at Pen-y-Pass to Betws-y-Coed and Llanberis where the level of "S2" Sherpa to Llanberis is doubled from five to ten journeys each way for the summer
- as shown below

Unfortunately no one has bothered to use the timetable change to rectify the long-stand,  silly,  unreliable,  "zero" minute connection at Beddgelert (1150-1150) which has ruined many holidaymakers days out
All it needed was the three journeys operated by this Sherpa
(between 0905 and 1150) to have been advanced by five minutes
and the problem would have gone away!!!
 - if this causes you inconvenience or additional costs,  write/phone(01248 722 694)/email both the operator (Gwynfor)
and Gwynedd CC and ask them to retime their 1130 "S97" Sherpa
to start at 1125 to make it into a RELIABLE connection

This "unofficial" website attempts to show what services are available
It contains composite timetables of connecting services on a cross-Snowdonia route basis
where a change of bus is necessary --- hopefully it will help you plan your days out
It also includes some suggested "trips round Snowdonia - without your car"
You can click on any underlined location to go direct to the appropriate timetable
