VERY IMPORTANT
NOTE --- MOST NON-SHERPA CONNECTING JOURNEYS WHICH WERE SUSPENDED DURING THE SEVERE CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS PERIOD HAVE RE-COMMENCED
(the majority from Monday 12th April 2021)

The extra summer "S2" journeys which were withdrawn for winter 2020-2021 are re-instated in virtually the same times..........
..........the two former "School Days Only" extensions to/from Llanrwst
will in future apply DAILY to improve connections from/to Llandudno
but the 1730 journey from Betws-y-Coed is cut short at Llanberis

(instead of continuing to Caernarfon)

The section of route between Pen-y-Pass and Beddgelert is re-instated
BUT REVERTS TO THE OLD ROUTE NUMBER "S4"

(rather than "S97" as immediately prior to the Coronavirus restrictions)
The former extra early and late summer afternoon journeys through
the Nant Gwynant Pass are to again operate
BUT NOTE SPECIALLY the last weekday journey from Pen-y-Pass
(at 1810) continues to Caernarfon rather than Porthmadog

Extra Summer Only "S1" 'Park and Ride' journeys between
Llanberis and Pen-y-Pass are re-instated for the summer to
augment the basic "S2" journeys

(service level varies to meet traffic demand)

The Weekend only "S6" Sherpa between Bangor and Pen-y-Pass
via Llyn Ogwen (for Tryfan)
re-commenced with extra journeys
operating " during School Holiday weekends "

from the Cambrian coast to the mountains of Snowdonia

Car Parking in Snowdonia is very limited and can be expensive if a space can be found

The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the
Snowdon Sherpa Bus network

    STOP PRESS
The 1730 weekday Sherpa from Betws-y-Coed terminates at Llanberis in 2021
Passengers for Caernarfon are advised to change at Pen-y-Pass into the 1810 "S4" Sherpa,  then the 2000 "T2"

    REMEMBER..........
Unfortunately,  many official websites (including the TravelineCymru "Journey Planner") continue to show journeys which have either been "WITHDRAWN" or are currently "SUSPENDED"
These are also included below as a warning - to help you avoid being caught out !!!

Please bookmark this page and revisit nearer the time to see if there have been any changes or further SUSPENSIONS from the limited official information when this page was last updated

Any journey shown on all pages on this website with a "strike through" line is still be operating,  BUT it is NO LONGER possible to get a connection back to the start location of this page - eg
 1234

This "unofficial" website attempts to show what is available
and to encourage greater also use includes some suggested

09.05 - Sherpa journey
1130 - Gwynfor "88" non-Sherpa connecting services - "£5 Snowdon Sherpa Day Ticket" NOT valid on these journeys
Beddgelert --- time for a short stroll along the side of the River Glaslyn past Gelert's Grave to the Aberslaslyn pass
Pen-y-Pass --- time for a short walk on the foothills of Snowdon     along the Miners Path towards     Llyn Glaslyn (and Snowdon)
$ - whilst in theory it is just about possible to catch the earlier "S4" at Beddgelert if the "S97 is running 'spot on time' - as it is less than five minutes,  it is NOT recognised as a connection by the
TravelineCymru "Journey Planner,"  - but if you do make it,  you will get to Pen-y-Pass over two hours earlier

All it needs is the 1345 ex-Porthmadog and the inward working at 1230 from Caernarfon to run five minutes EARLIER throughout and the problem is solved !!!
..........unfortunately this is yet further example of 'failed' integrated timetable planning for the Sherpa network

 - if this causes you inconvenience or additional costs,  write/phone (01248 722 694)/email both the operator (Gwynfor)
and Gwynedd CC and ask them to retime their 1345 "S97" Sherpa to start at 1340 to make a RELIABLE connection

latest times should always be confirmed from the individual timetables on the official Gwynedd CC or Conwy CC websites  and any subsequent amendments thereto
