SUMMARY OF SNOWDON SHERPA NETWORK - WINTER 2024-2025
UPDATE.....
From Monday 22nd July 2024
In an attempt to avoid late running due to excessive traffic in the Porthmadog area,  Lloyds Coaches re-routed the majority of its Northbound "G23" journeys (from Barmouth to Porthmadog) via the by-pass,  then run from north to south through Porthmadog before continuing to Minffordd
    Southbound journeys/connections will remain unaltered
VERY IMPORTANT
There is NO LONGER be sufficiaent time to connect at Porthmadg Parc into the "S4" Sherpa to Beddgelert and Pen-y-Pass on these journeys
If you arrive via the by-pass,  you are STRONGLY ADVISED to alight at the Brisish Rail station bus stop,  cross the road and join the "S4" Sherpa there - if in any doubt where to alight,  ask the "G23" driver when you JOIN the bus (afterwards may be too late !!!)

Reductions in the level of service for the Winter Sherpa services have been announced..........

The level of "S1" Sherpa journeys via Pen-y-Pass and Llanberis" remains basically hourly - with the first and pen-ultimate journeys suspended for the winter

"S2" Sherpa journeys from Bangor to Pen-y-Pass via Llanberis are again cut back to only operate as far Llanberis (where passengers can change into the "S1" Sherpa)

The level of "S3" Sherpa journeys along the western side of Snowdon is slightly reduced with the last 1902 summer return journey from Beddgelert suspended for the winter

The level of "S4" Sherpa journeys along the Nant Gwynant pass has again been reduced to just two journeys each way during the winter periodare again.....
.....but the service remains two-hourly between Beddgelert and Porthmadog
note - the extensions to Morfa Bychan will only operate on weekdays during the winter

All the additional "S5" "Park and Ride" journeys are again SUSPENDED for the winter - use the hourly "S1" journeys instead

The additional "T10" "TrawsCymru" journeys are again SUSPENDED for the winter
- basically every 2 hours on weekdays and every 4 hours on Sundays

So far,   no further changes (after September 2024) have been anounced for the
Conwy Valley "19" connections,  but watch this space for possible changes

This website will be further updated if and when anything further is advised to the webmaste

The pages on this website are now in the process of being updated
Any page dated before 4th November should be regarded as "STILL TO BE UPDATED"

Snowdon Sherpa Bus Timetables
    REMEMBER..........
Due to so many last-minute changes to the various services in the area,  unfortunately many official websites (including the TravelineCymru "Journey Planner") continue to show journeys which have either been "CHANGED" or sometimes even "WITHDRAWN"
Where known,  these are also included below as a warning - to help avoid you being caught out !!!

Please bookmark and revisit nearer the time to check if there have been any further known changes since your last visit to this page

Journeys shown on this website with a "strike through" line are still operating,  BUT it is NO LONGER possible to get a (bus) connection back to the start location of the page - eg
 1234

Throughout Snowdonia there are unfortunately numerous cases of "sub-standard" connections which are NOT recognised by the TravelineCymru "Journey Planner"
(as they are less than 5 minutes) - eg
17.55 17.55
Although this website strongly advises you NOT to 'chance' them..........
..........they are included to draw your attention to the fact that if everything is 'spot on time' and you are "very quick" - it can sometimes get you to your destination considerably earlier

This "unofficial" website attempts to show what is available..... and to encourage greater use of the network it also includes some suggested "trips round Snowdonia - without your car"

Sundays from 3rd November 2024 to 30th March 2025
NO service on Christmas DayBoxing Day or New Year's Day
see VERY important note above
REMEMBER - the last Sunday "S4" Sherpa connection from Porthmadog via Beddgelert now departs at 1730  (involves returning from Betws-y-Coed on the "T10" via the Ogwen Valley and Bangor
alternatively depart Porthmadog at 1530 for an onward Conwy Valley bus connection
click here for alternative weekday evening journeys
Don't Dispair
In the unlikely event you are unfortunate enough to miss the direct "S4" Sherpa to Pen-y-Pass (for Betws-y-Coed) or you decide you wish to spend longer in Porthmadog
there is a later bus connection via Blaenau Ffestiniog at 1810 connecting into the last Conwy Valley TRAIN as well as later "T2" TrawsCymru journeys via Bangor

Please note - "1 bws" (one bus) day tickets are valid on the alternative BUS routes back to Llandudno or Llanrwst/Betws-y-Coed
"North Wales Day Rover tickets" are valid on ALL the alternative bus and train routes back to Llandudno or Llanrwst/Betws-y-Coed
